A late summer walk in the woods becomes an invitation to me. Even as a little boy, I always had to be climbing, so a tall tree or an interesting rock formation is not easy to ignore :) It's safe to say, I guess, that natural surroundings bring out my curious side. In these August photos, you can see what I mean. The rock I'm holding in one of the pictures now enjoys a space on my bookshelf-- a small memory of that day in the woods.
