Trains

During entire trip Halien was talking about many things that are expecting us in the country. He seemed to be prepared very good rather than me and Peter who was wondering to every next thing. One of the things he was telling all the time was InterCityExpress (ICE). He was mentioning it everytime and was getting excited. We (and then everyone) got to know that it was one of his dreams to be a train driver and that he likes trains so much. And this one was special to him.

So, after several days in Dortmund, we decided to visit Frankfurt. One of the possibilities was for us to go there by InterCityExpress (ICE). That was the birth of a wonderfull idea. The plan was to make surprise for Halien. We all have cooperated and didn't tell anything to him.

The last decision was to take tickets to Koln by Regional Express (RE). And separate ticket from Keln to Frankfurt by InterCityExpress (ICE).

On this pictures you can see central area of Koln near the realway station, InterCityExpress (ICE) exterior and interior, but it's a big pity you can't see Halien's face when we returned to the station and pointed him directly to the train and asked wouldn't he like to come and look what's inside!
